Baselaos supports schools, local authorities, charities and leaders to build practice that is relational, rigorous and rooted in equity.

What we know

Most organisations working with children and young people are solving the wrong problem. Not because they lack commitment, but because the systems they work within have taught them to treat symptoms, label quickly, and move on.

We do not just help organisations do better. We help them see differently.

The Baselaos
Method
Seeing beneath the surface. Rooted in change. Five moves that go deeper than the symptom.
01
Interrogate the Default
Disrupts business as usual
We question what organisations have normalised. We challenge what has been inherited and never examined — because the children at the centre of this work cannot afford for us not to.
03
Come Back to Them
Keeps the person central
Any analysis that loses sight of the individual child, practitioner, or leader at the centre has already gone wrong. We always return to: what was this person carrying, and what do they actually need?
04
Name Who's Missing
Anti-oppressive by design
We name who is being missed, mislabelled, and whose needs are being flattened. Anti-oppressive practice is not an add-on. It is the lens through which all of it is done.
05
Build Reflexive Capacity
Leaves organisations stronger
The goal of Baselaos is never dependency. It is transformation. We build thinking and honest self-questioning into the organisation so that when we leave, the capacity to keep seeing clearly stays.
For organisations that already care/// But sense something structural keeps getting in the way/// And are ready to look honestly at their own part in that///

In her memory · Founder
Dr Denise Parnell

"For the people. Not a slogan. Just an orientation. A way of moving through the world."

From the youth courts at the Crown Prosecution Service, to MOPAC multi-faith community work, to building Baselaos with young people across Southwark, Lambeth, Feltham and pan-London. She kept finding her way back to the same question: how do we actually serve the people in front of us?

Baselaos is not closing. It is continuing. Founded by her. Continued in her name.
